Developing Commitment

Our commitment to the developing world:

We recognize that improved crops can have a significant positive impact on food and water issues in developing countries, and we believe that many of our technologies are applicable to these situations.

We're committed to maintaining an ongoing dialogue with leaders in the developing world and learning about specific needs in key regions.

Where possible and appropriate, we will work with research institutions, non-government organizations (NGOs) and government agencies to make our technologies available at no cost to researchers for use in crops that are essential in the developing world but not core to our business.

We will be active in seeking opportunities to contribute ideas and technologies as part of a solution to the challenges of feeding people and improving economic well-being. To further enhance these programs, we will remain involved in the technology transfer process and provide technical guidance throughout the development process.

Reducing Nitrogen
Usage

Arcadia Biosciences has conducted field trials in five growing seasons. In each field trial, Nitrogen Use Efficiency (NUE) canola demonstrated that it can achieve high yields using significantly less nitrogen fertilizer than conventional varieties. In the chart above, note that NUE canola yielded 2800 lb/ac using two-thirds less nitrogen fertilizer than the conventional variety needed to generate the same yield.
